About us

A small town business you can count on

Cook's Lawncare & Landscaping is run by James Cook in Northern Michigan, with a small crew that pays attention to the details.

Who we are

James Cook started Cook's Lawncare & Landscaping, and 2025 was our first full season. We mow, mulch, clean up, plow and haul for homes, cottages and businesses around here.

We are a loyal, trustworthy, small town business. That means showing up when we say we will, answering the phone, and charging a fair price. It also means doing the work well enough that you can stand back and admire it.

Thank you

From James, after our first season:

I'd like to extend my appreciation to all of our customers who trusted us with their projects in the 2025 season. Without all of your support I wouldn't be able to keep growing this business and serving our community.

Thank you to our crew, too, for a great job and for paying attention to the details.

What customers say about James and the crew

We have struggled for years to find a reliable company to cut our lawn at our cottage until Cooks Lawncare and Landscaping LLC. I appreciate that we never have to follow up to make sure that we are on the schedule or constantly having to text them because no one went out to cut the lawn. They are professional, quick to reply, efficient and do a good job! It has taken such a weight off our mind and we are happy they came along!

John did an amazing job clearing our driveway with 3+ foot drifts after the 45mph winds! Very respectful and dependable! Do not question hiring these folks. A+++

Cooks did a quick and thorough job cleaning a LOT of leaves from our property. The price was very fair and we'll use him again for spring cleanup and into future seasons.
